can i sell my sprint phone if i owe them a balance?

I had sprint and when i lost my job i couldn’t afford to pay the bill so it got shut off. Right before that happened i bought a new phone and i only used it for a month so i want to sell it. I’ve been told that i can sell it but the person that buys it wont be able to use it with their account until i pay the bill. I’ve also been told that i should have it flashed and then sell it so that they can use it, but that also may not work. So from anyone that has experience or knows for sure, what can i do? And please don’t say “just take the sim card out and sell the phone” because sprint does not operate on sim card technology!
lmao! yea i was thinking i could just do that, but that would be wrong of me to sell a phone that cant even be activated. i need the extra money, but i’d hate to cheat someone that way.

You could sell it but that wouldnt be very nice. The person you sell it to won’t be able to activate it until your account is cancelled because that imei is associated with your account. One thing you might try is to take your old phone (you said you only had the new one for a month right) so if you have the phone you used before that try going online to sprint.com and change your imei back to that of your old phone. If it will allow you to do that it should free up your phone to sell. Im not sure if you can do this online you may have to call and talk to customer service, but Im not sure how willing they would be to help you since you have unpaid bills with them. Good luck
