technology first

Which major should I purse first between Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology?
I have an interest in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering Technology and would like to do both for a bachelors degree after getting two associate degrees.
Those of you who graduated with a Mechanical Engineering degree and/or a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree. This would be a good questions for you to answer becasue you would probably provide a great answer.
You should go to college with the intent of focusing on a “BS in Mechanical Engineering” as it is much higher pay and much more responsiblity. If it turns out that you can’t quite make it in Mechanical Engineering, then everything you’ve done towards the Mechanical Engineering degree should apply to the Mechanical Engineering Technology degree.
It is kind of like — if you can’t make it in the full blown Mechanical Engineering curriculum, then your off-ramp, or second choice of the easier Mechanical Engineering Technology (kind of a Mechanical Engineering assistant) will be easier and most of your credits should apply.
For every ten people starting college intent on being an “engineer”, maybe only 2 or 3 probably make it through. It is a very tough curriculum. Unfortunately, not everyone going into Engineering can handle the advanced Calculus, and advanced Physics courses. Good luck.
