I have planned to go through a program of medical laboratory technology at a community college. MLT I wonder where is that I can clarify with regard to the average wage. I've talked to salary.com and payscale.com Occupational Outlook Handbook. I hear "real" TLM …… Thank you very much!

I am not an MLT, but it was a clinical chemist for about 10 years and my partner was a medical technologist for 23 years. MLT The salary range is very wide, depending on years of experience and areas of the country where you are. If you are really interested in becoming an MLT, I recommend a visit to a local hospital laboratory and talk to the LTA who are currently working in your area. Note that these jobs rarely 9-5, Monday through Friday. Hospitals are open 24 / 7, even holidays. Shift differentials (wages per hour, depending on what happened) may be large or small. Often home-pay is not as important as other benefits. Some hospitals are even paying MLT to obtain additional training for Med Tech
