Certificate programs and training

Many communities and schools and some colleges and universities offer biotechnology training and certification programs in the short term, AA and BA degrees. Some universities also offer graduate certificate programs. The following are some institutions that offer training programs and certificate:

University California State Hayward (CSUH Certificate in Biotechnology) – Program (BCP) – The Certificate Program in Biotechnology (CEC) was created in 1986 to meet CSUH personal needs of the rapid expansion of the biotechnology industry in the Bay Area. Program was among the first in California to offer an integrated package courses in molecular life sciences leading to a certificate. CSUH has two new curriculum in Bioinformatics and Regulatory Affairs. Bioinformatics program offered at night and the business regulatory program is completely online and is offered in conjunction with San Diego State University.

California State University, Los Angeles – Biotechnology (post-baccalaureate) Certificate Program – This certification program offers post-secondary education and training intensive technologies laboratory and application techniques of genetic engineering and related fields. It is designed for students who have completed a bachelor's degree or equivalent in biological sciences or biochemistry, but have little or no experience in genetic engineering.

Teachers at Columbia University College – Certificate reducing disparities in health – This online certificate program or in person at the reduction of health disparities is offered jointly by the Department of Behavior curriculum for health education and Educational Action Center and Innovation at Teachers College, Columbia University, this program is for professionals from different who share an interest in being exposed to knowledge, attitudes and beliefs, and skills deemed essential to the task by working to reduce health disparities. Based on specific academic and professional preparation in the area or existing ones who are allowed to maintain a minimum of a BA or BS. These professionals include, but not limited to health professionals, social workers, counselors and health professionals, researchers, teachers, doctors and health and school administrators work in an environment especially in the cities, as well as other nationally who are seeking opportunities for distance learning.

Indiana University Faculty of Medicine – Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology is designed to train technicians to work in the laboratory research related to health industrial, including the IU School of Medicine. Students also have access to basic services in the IUSM gene expression analysis, genotyping, expression protein, animal testing, proteomics, cell imaging and research analysis.

Bloomington Ivy Tech Community College – Program Biotechnology program – Ivy Tech Community College biotechnology degree is designed to provide a learning opportunity for students who want to make a biotechnology career in entry-level technicians.

Ohio State Agricultural Technical Institute OH – Ohio State ATI offers a wide range of programs in agriculture: horticulture, animal science, culture, science, environmental science, engineering and technology. They have the largest number of agricultural graduates 2 years in the nation.

Seattle Central Community College – Training Program in Biotechnology – Biotechnology Training Program prepares students for entry-level employment and biotechnologists to be approved by the school based industry Biotechnology Advisory Committee and the State of Washington. Classes in the program cell biology, microbiology, genetics, immunology, chemistry, computer applications, technical writing, applied mathematics, and training practice in biotechnology laboratory techniques and media and the preparation of the solution.

UC San Diego – UCSD Extension – offers professional certificates and specialized in Biotechnology – San Diego biotech, pharmaceutical and marine industry's fastest growing California's economy. UCSD Extension offers a wide range of courses and certificate programs to meet the continuing education needs of the life science community support high-level skills development for industry professionals and career transition for those who are interested to enter the field of biotechnology.

University of California, Irvine – The Medical Product Development Certificate program is designed for engineers, scientists, regulatory professionals, managers, doctors and professionals in marketing and sales of medical products industry (professional graduates or those with an associate's degree). Science Clinical Laboratory / Medical Technology (CLS / MT) Training Program curriculum one year full-time career in the diagnosis laboratory. UC Irvine Extension Program is designed to fill the growing need for professional learning that ensures the design and implementation of clinical for success. The development program of medical products designed to meet the needs of professional learning in the overall design success, development and supply of medical devices, pharmaceuticals and other biomedical products.

Programs at the University of Hawaii Community College, Community College of Kapi'olani – Study Assisiting include medical technician, medical laboratory, occupational therapy assistant, pharmacy technician, technology radiological, physical therapy assistant and respiratory care technicians. Programs offered include Associate in Nursing Degree Nursing (AND) RN Licensed Practical Nurse Program Registered transition.

San Diego State University Biology Department: Certificate in Biotechnology – San Diego Program State Biotech training aims to introduce undergraduate, graduate and post-docs and technicians using the latest techniques used in research laboratories molecular biology and qualify the certificate recipients for employment in various sectors in the biotechnology arena.

University of California at Santa Cruz – certification program in biotechnology, natural and applied sciences Department – UCSC Extension renowned biotechnology Certificate Program was developed to meet the needs of industry professionals who know the fundamentals and up to date on the latest technologies. University of Rhode Island Certification Programs – Biotechnology Initiative Training Courses and Seminars – Courses and seminars ranging from half a day Four full days are offered in various areas of operations and management biotechnology, biomanufacturing, and clinical and basic investigation. Courses vary each semester and are included in the offer Tangential flow filtration (lectures and laboratory workshops) environmental health and safety of biotechnology and emerging industries, genomics and proteomics tools of biotechnology; Study of Systems Biology, and best practices from different classes, such as good clinical practice, the clinical course program scientist training, SOP writing skills (basic and enhanced), and technical writing.

University of Virginia Biotechnology Associate Degree Program – PVCC offers a two-year associate degree in biotechnology. This program provides students with education and training needed to PVCC perform certain activities in a research laboratory. With the adoption of this curriculum in biotechnology, students will develop the necessary skills to be competitive to specialist posts Laboratory at the University of Virginia, and other research positions in biotechnology laboratories. This program has been developed in response to a demonstrated need for additional laboratory specialists UVA.
