Has the Internet made life better or worse?
I asked a similar question in a previous life, but nobody really developed. Yes Internet brings a lot to our lives that we now take for granted. Education, Entertainment, Finance and social benefits are least provided a microcosm. But think. Technology has resulted in many new forms of crime. Is it the fact that we know something (or someone) at any time really a good thing? Sites like Facebook are a good example. I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Edit: – I am always amused when people cite the main advantage of Facebook as a contribution to "meet old friends" 9 out of 10 times, are "old" friends for a reason.
It has been mixed. There are certain things it does well and others less. I think they have lost the community we've had in the real world. We are busier than ever. I know I am and I think that I do more. But when? No se. I do a lot more now. I still think I fall short. I like Facebook. Family I was able to reconnect with friends, acquaintances and extended. I agree with you on "old" friends, but I'm making new friends in Facebook. The people I had met years before, but never really got to know and have learned to know them better. Looks like we have in common. But once again too much of anything is not good. It would be better if we had time to be with "real" people, but if the online world is all we have time for then it is better than nothing. I like the Internet puts a wealth of information at your fingertips. I always go to the library, but again time and hours are always factors. Edit: I do not care for people my city. Maybe just have not met the right people. Too often, I just listen to people of lower class. I'll give you another example on the previous day. This woman who seemed down to earth and easy to talk to another person. She talked about how drinking is so important in your life (Of people from the beer.) Others seem to be in a bad mood. also plenty of bad drivers. My husband has a relative in the street from us and I heard her children screaming. Sounds like the addict, at least in what used to be. Maybe not now, but has the same type of voice or tone that I heard. (The people that I stay away from them, because we will no part in life.) Always want to be part of a community of people who simply together. I've been around people like that. Facebook gives me a version of it. It is superficial and not replace good, but better than nothing. My husband is still far from his father. It reminds me of his brother I do not like. Just a boy of much of the time it has not grown, but has no children.
