World today is very focused on technology. We have progressed beyond electric typewriters for all international networks of computers that allow documents text at a speed in the world in seconds. The technology we live in today is so powerful that its predecessors ever. This is great news for people with disabilities. Today high-tech systems with the addition of software and hardware, can take additional processing tasks and become adaptive. This allows a person with a disability to use a system too. In the past, many simple devices have been used to create greater independence for people with disabilities. In addition to devices to help with bathing, dressing and food preparation tasks, people have learned to use a magnifying lens, transfer devices, the ramps and bathroom modifications. All these devices are still very important for independence. However, opportunities for personal autonomy, adventure and employment seem limitless capacity as current technology provides richer countries. There are teams that allow a person to word processing with a single switch on by a blinking … page or scanner connected to a computer that copies of a page of print and synthesized speech becomes so Blindness person can "read" … or devices containing microprocessors that enable a non-speech to ask and answer questions, and participate in a world of words. Access to technology puts people with disabilities into the mainstream of life, prepare for employment and interaction, increases their self confidence, allows them to make decisions and exercise control over their options. Assistive technology means that people with disabilities are beneficiaries of the revolution too! The key to good use assistive technology to create a good party. "It's important to find a good fit between the wide range of devices that are now available challenges, all the physical, cognitive and sensory facing the disabled and the tasks or personal goals that person wants to accomplish.
